Trump TV Immediately Flops in Embarrassing Numbers Disaster

Trump TV Launches to Low Viewership

Donald Trump’s attempt to launch state-run media backfired spectacularly Monday when his new 24-hour YouTube channel “Trump TV: The Essentials Station” launched to an embarrassing ratings collapse. The president, who banned CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from the White House on Friday after accusing them of producing “fake news,” watched his alternative channel hemorrhage viewers within hours of going live. Starting with roughly 8,000 viewers at 7 p.m., the stream plummeted to just 2,425 by 10:40 p.m. and bottomed out at 1,123 viewers by 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Despite the White House YouTube channel boasting 3.18 million followers, Trump TV attracted less than 0.076 percent of that audience during primetime, a humbling contrast to the millions watching traditional networks.

The channel emerged after Trump’s controversial media ban triggered a broader standoff. America’s major networks, including NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox News, suspended their pooled White House coverage in solidarity with the banned outlets, leaving Trump without professional photographers or TV crews to document his activities. Trump’s deputy assistant Kaelan Dorr promoted Trump TV as a corrective to what the administration views as inaccurate press reporting, but the strategy has backfired. The absence of traditional media coverage turned a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Trump’s $13 million helipad into an awkward spectacle where his remarks were rendered virtually inaudible.

The three banned networks immediately fought back, filing a federal lawsuit in Washington arguing that Trump’s action violates the First and Fifth Amendments and constitutes retaliation for coverage he disliked. CNN, MSNBC, and Politico contended in their joint statement that “without notice or process, the White House revoked our journalists’ credentials because it objected to our reporting.” Reports indicate Trump’s executive assistant Natalie Harp, who earns $150,000 annually screening the president’s news consumption, played clips of critical coverage before the ban was implemented, suggesting the decision stemmed from personal grievance rather than legitimate security concerns.

The timing proves particularly damaging as Trump’s approval rating has sunk to 32 percent, his lowest point in the second term and across his entire political career according to Reuters. Watch for how federal courts rule on the First Amendment lawsuit and whether the media boycott holds, as these developments will shape press access dynamics for the remainder of Trump’s presidency.
