Hegseth Covered Up the Real Reason the USS Lincoln Wasn’t Resupplied - According to a report from MSNOW, the USS Abraham Lincoln wasn’t resupplied because Iranian strikes destroyed a key Navy resupply base in the Middle East.

MSNOW Report: Iranian Strikes Led to USS Lincoln Resupply Issue

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth withheld critical information about Iranian strikes that destroyed Naval Support Activity Bahrain, the U.S. Navy’s primary resupply base in the Gulf of Oman, forcing the USS Abraham Lincoln and other carrier groups to operate under severe logistical strain from February through June. Senior national security reporter David Rhode revealed that the Pentagon concealed the devastating damage, which forced evacuation of most personnel and relocation of supply operations 2,200 miles away to a U.K. naval base on Diego Garcia. The disclosure directly contradicts President Trump’s repeated public claims that the Strait of Hormuz remained open and under American control, as recent maritime incidents including attacks by Iran backed Houthis in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Madeb Strait continue to threaten commercial shipping.

The operational crisis has created unprecedented hardship for sailors aboard affected vessels. Crew members on the USS Abraham Lincoln have endured over 200 days without a port call, resulting in documented food shortages, sanitation failures, and multiple suicide attempts. Family members of sailors have raised alarm about conditions aboard multiple Navy ships, reflecting what analysts describe as tremendous strain on the entire fleet. Trump dismissed these concerns from military families as politically motivated rather than acknowledging the legitimate operational challenges facing the service.

Trump’s endorsement record continued deteriorating as three of his preferred candidates lost Republican primaries in Florida and Wyoming on Tuesday. Incumbent Representative Cory Mills, facing multiple Department of Justice investigations including sexual misconduct and ethics violations, fell to former TV reporter Ryan Elijah by 13 points. Former Commerce adviser Catalina Lauf lost in a crowded primary to conservative radio host Jim Schwartzel, and Wyoming superintendent Megan Degenfelder lost the gubernatorial race to state Senator Eric Barlow by over 20,000 votes. These losses mark Trump’s tenth primary endorsement failure in the current election cycle, matching his combined losses from 2018, 2020, and 2024, with his approval rating now at a historic low of 33 percent according to recent polling.

Watch for whether Trump’s pattern of failed endorsements affects Republican turnout and candidate recruitment heading into November’s midterm elections, particularly as Democrats gain momentum from their surprise Pennsylvania state House special election victory and continue challenging traditionally red districts.
